Teacher CPD resources: sustaining food
Tue, 09/13/2011 - 19:44 — Visitor
Three half-day Saturday mini-conferences were planned by Meat and Education in order to support Food Technology, Home Economics and Catering teachers in England and Wales. The free events aimed to provide teachers with a number of updates including sustainability, topical nutrition issues, food consumption trends and new teaching resources.
The presentations at the Leeds conference held on the 2 July 2011 were recorded. Video podcasts have been created to allow teachers who were unable to attend access to the valuable information. The final conference will be held on 12 November 2011 in London.
Comments from teachers who have attended the course include:
- Cheers. Cheerfully give up Saturdays for such a useful course.
- A very good eye opener and useful information for GCSE and A level students.
- Very informative. A good range of information – all useful. Many good ideas and resources given and shared. Greta to be given the opportunity to attend a free course and Saturday is good so multiple colleagues can attend. Very comfortable and enjoyable venue.
The podcasts are downloadable and handouts based on the PowerPoint presentations have also been provided. To access and download these, click here.
